Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding

Updated: May 13

California natives Jodie and Luka met in Portland, Oregon, where they now live, through mutual friends about three years prior to their engagement. Around Christmas in 2017, the couple were visiting Jodie’s hometown of Santa Barbara, and after a perfect day of wine tasting and exploring, Luka surprised Jodie with an intimate proposal in their hotel room with flowers and champagne. Jodie knew this was it—the perfect proposal.

Selecting a city in which to host their wedding celebration and festivities was difficult, but ultimately, they followed our advice of choosing a location one can come back to, someplace that will always hold special meaning for their love. Where else but Santa Barbara?

The date was set in early October, one of the most beautiful and temperate months of the year in Santa Barbara.

Their venue was selected next: the stunning Santa Barbara Historical Museum. The venue offered multiple areas for guests’ entertainment and an on-site bridal suite where Jodie could get ready. Conveniently nestled in the downtown area, Jodie and Luka felt the Historical Museum was the perfect venue to create the authentic Santa Barbara experience they desired to share with their guests.

Guests were welcomed by a trickling fountain and a shaded view of the ceremony. The love and joy could be felt in the air as Jodie and Luka tied the knot! Signature cocktails were followed by a beautiful seasonal charcuterie spread by top notch caterer Feast & Fest.

Hundreds of succulents grown with love by the Father of the Bride were tucked into greenery table runners and escort card pots, which added a sweet and personal touch to the wedding decorations! We always recommend finding a way to include a personal touch, but this just went above and beyond.

The evening was topped off with smooth dance moves to vinyl tunes by Last Resort Forever. And then, guests watched as the bride and groom cut into the MOST STUNNING floral cake by Lori Stern, accompanied by a Jeroboam of Champagne.

After party festivities continued down State street at a local bar, topping off the authentic Santa Barbara experience that guests will surely never forget!
